Not real, not even one bark. \[Editor's note: please do not try this at home.\] ## Not Perfection, But Close If you watched any of these, you’ll have noticed little issues here and there, like the dog barking, but his jaw doesn’t appear to move. These AI-generated videos are not perfect, but they are so close that while scrolling on social media, you might not notice that anything is off unless you pause to watch it a few times and look for inconsistencies. That’s the problem, just like with the rabbits on the trampoline, you have to pay close attention to know it is fake. ## The Watermark All of the videos have a jumping “Sora” watermark on them, both hard to remove and reasonably obvious—if you know what it means. I suspect that most people don’t know what “Sora” is, and don’t know that it is an AI-powered video generator capable of making just about anything you can describe with words. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/50/54/50548939-6904-4e8f-9326-30234f6091dc/content/images/2025/10/Screenshot-2025-10-10-at-10.24.24---AM.png) A screen capture of the Bob Ross video from above circling the Sora logo that you can see in all Sora generated videos. ## OpenAI Takes Action This tool has only been out for about a week, and it is already making news headlines: - [NYT: OpenAI’s Sora Makes Disinformation Extremely Easy and Extremely Real](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/03/technology/sora-openai-video-disinformation.html?ref=christophermoravec.com) - [Fox: You’ll never trust video again once you see what Sora2 can do](https://www.foxnews.com/tech/youll-never-trust-video-again-once-you-see-what-sora-2-can-do?ref=christophermoravec.com) - [Mashable: Sora 2 Cameos: How to keep your face from being used](https://mashable.com/article/sora-2-deepfakes-protecting-your-cameo?ref=christophermoravec.com) - [NPR: Sora gives deepfakes ‘a publicist and a distribution deal.’ It could change the internet](https://www.npr.org/2025/10/10/nx-s1-5567162/sora-ai-openai-deepfake?ref=christophermoravec.com) So, OpenAI stepped in to try to make it harder to generate copyrighted material, turning up the sensitivity on the moderation process. At one point, the sensitivity was so high it was [hard to make anything](https://technave.com/gadget/Sora-users-can-no-longer-create-videos-that-infringe-on-IPs-44388.html?ref=christophermoravec.com)! 🙆 They are limiting the generation of videos that infringe on copyrights. I wonder how they do that? Probably another AI model. I guess I need to go copyright my face. ## Politics We don’t all agree on everything, and I think that’s okay. But I think one thing we can agree on is that *the truth is important*. So when scrolling on social media, look out for that moving Sora logo… be sure what you are believing is true. ## What do we do? 1. Don’t be a secret cyborg — If you post AI generated content, disclose that! 2. If you see misleading content on the internet that is AI generated, add a comment! 3. Let people know about the “Sora” watermark. Don’t assume everyone knows! 4. Share this post with one person! (Okay, yes, that is also self serving, but seriously, at least talk to your friends about deepfakes) # Newsologue - [OpenAI launches AgentKit which competes against tools like n8n.
