Claude Clue #11: What Hides Behind the '/'
The `/` menu in Claude Code has quietly become a treasure chest.
The / menu in Claude Code has quietly become a treasure chest. If you haven't explored it recently, you're probably walking past capabilities you didn't know existed. The pace of additions has been relentless, way more than even three months ago. /resume picks up prior conversations. /desktop hands your session to the Claude Desktop app for artifact visualizations. /security-review analyzes your branch for vulnerabilities. /compact compresses your conversation to free up space. And you can build your own commands—drop a SKILL.md file in .claude/skills/your-skill-name/ and it becomes /your-skill-name.
My personal favorite is /chrome, which connects Claude to your browser for web-aware workflows. This one's a game-changer for testing—you can have Claude open your app and actually click through buttons to verify they work as expected. "Open the settings page and test that each toggle saves correctly" becomes a real command, not a fantasy. The full command reference lives at https://code.claude.com/docs/en/interactive-mode. Set 15 minutes aside this week, hit the /, and scroll. You'll find something you didn't know was there.
If this clue is helpful, thank Claude. If it's wrong, blame me. (or maybe the other way around)
As usual, HT to Roscoe for this.
